Framework explicitly documents that the Laptop 13 with a 12th Gen Intel Core mainboard uses DDR4 and cannot use DDR5. A listing that says Framework compatible is not enough; match the mainboard generation, memory form factor, speed, and capacity support.

For LPCAMM2 systems, use the LPCAMM2 and CAMM2 Upgrade Guide. An LPCAMM2 board is not a SO-DIMM and cannot be substituted with a normal laptop stick.

A three-step compatibility lookup

Use evidence from the laptop, not the wording in a marketplace title:

Framework's current material says compatible Laptop 13 and 16 models with two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots can support up to 96GB. That does not mean every earlier mainboard does. Confirm the maximum in the support material for your exact system and update firmware where required.

One module or a matched pair?

A matched pair gives consistent dual-channel operation on models with two SO-DIMM slots. That is the best default when buying the final capacity now. Speed and compatibility
